The Friday Take Away
is currently in abeyance

Latest update - Friday 4th September 2015

Another great Friday Take Away led by Tom - who is off to University very soon - we wish him well there.  A very thought-provoking "Cash Flow Game" had us changing our money between Savers, Bankers, Shoppers and Manufacturers without knowing until the end just what our money was used for - would it be used to buy scones or bombs - scary!!

To find out what's in store next month let's see you here on
Friday 2nd October about 7pm - you won't regret it.

When you attend Church which of the following would you expect to encounter?:

  • A Simpson’s Cartoon
  • A Celebrity Photo Quiz
  • Disco lights and smoke jets
  • Plates of Chips, Chocolate bars and Coffee

If you selected all of the above, then you must have been present at the first “Friday Take Away” which was held at Temple Methodist Church in Budleigh Salterton on Friday 5th June between 7 and 8.30 pm.

The “service” was led by Pete, Tom and Mark from the Church’s AGAPE Group – the older members of the Temple Adventure Group.  The build up to last Friday was described as "Church like you've never seen it before” and the theme for this first Friday Take away was "God and Difference".

Pete, Tom and Mark were ably assisted by Ashley on the Audio Visuals while those attending were welcomed by Ben and Oliver.  The minister of Temple Methodist Church, Rev Jonathan Froggatt was on hand as was group leader Sue who, with her helpers looked after the supply of Coffee and Chips throughout the evening.

More than 25 attended the event and not just all were youngsters – there were at least 7 or 8 of the more mature members of Temple Methodist on hand to support the AGAPE group on this new venture.  A second “Friday take Away” is planned for 3rd July at 7pm and all are welcome to come and experience this new extension of the work by Temple’s superb Adventure Group.
