Temple Methodist Church is a much loved and admired buildings in the heart of Budleigh Salterton, Devon and has a variety of spaces available for hire within the Church and the adjacent Hall.
Listed below are details of the facilities we can offer:
Hall Complex – this building, separate from the main Church, contains:
The Large Hall is allocated to Wesley's Café and Community Space and therefore not currently available for hire.
Meeting Room – approximately 100sq m with space for seating up to 40 people with a separate access from the outside via the path under the arch. This room has its own Kitchenette for making drinks and snacks. The final room available in our Hall Complex is a
Small Lounge with arm chairs with space for up to 15 people.
Temple Church is also available for hire, either in its entirety, or just the Entrance Vestibule.
The Sanctuary is approximately 285 sq m with seating for more than 125 people. This space is suitable for lectures, musical productions or theatrical events. This popular venue used for the famous Budleigh Salterton Music Festival each July and the Literary Festival each September.
Access to the Sanctuary area is through the Vestibule which is approximately 96 sq m and has space for 8 to 10 tables and chairs and is ideal for a Coffee Morning or small Meetings. There is a kitchenette with serving hatch adjacent to this area. Concertina folding doors separate the Sanctuary from the Vestibule.
Our premises are suitable for any occasion including:- weddings, receptions, conferences, family parties, yoga classes, music events, rehearsal rooms, charity events, arts and crafts and much more.
Both the Hall and Temple Church are Wheelchair accessible, either by ramps or, in the case of the Sanctuary and Vestibule, by way of a Wheelchair lift.
The Hall has Male/Female and Disabled Toilet Facilities and the Church has a unisex Disabled/Able Bodied WC.
Temple Methodist Church Premises Letting Fees from March 2023
CHURCH (Sanctuary area) – £11.00 per hour plus £4 per hour for heating if booking is between October and April or £60.00 per day (<8 hours) or £24.00 per half-day (<4 hours) plus £20.00 per day or (£10.00 per half day) for heating if booking is between October and April.
CHURCH FOYER area – £8.00 per hour plus £2 per hour for heating if between October and April.
MEETING ROOM – £10.00 per hour plus £3 per hour for heating if booking is between October and April or £48.00 per day (<8 hours) or £24.00 per half-day plus £20.00 per day or (£10.00 per half day) for heating if booking is between October and April.
SMALL LOUNGE – £8.00 per hour plus £2 per hour for heating if booking is between October and April or £40.00 per day (<8 hours) or £20.00 per half-day plus £15.00 per day or (£10.00 per half day) for heating if booking is between October and April.
